During the steam era some stations had facilities to refuel and small sheds or turntables to cater for engines "away from home". This was called "locomotive station". At the Ahrtalbahn the stations of Remagen, Ahrweiler and Adenau were such equipped. Since the big depot at Kreuzberg was opened in 1918 the importance of the loco-stations diminished and the loco-stations were closed after some time. |
