Rech is a halt in a curve, so that the "guard" must be very careful to observe all passengers getting on and off the train.

In 1999 a cycle path was constructed on the trackbed of the second track. The highlight is the ride through the single track tunnel just after passing a bridge over the Ahr river.

Shortly after Rech should have been the junction of the "Unvollendete", the never finished line from the Ruhrgebiet via Liblar, Rheinbach and Ringen to Rech.
