Freight trains on the Ahrtalbahn

Since dieselization engines of the classes Köf II (323), V100 (212, 213) and V60 (265, 365) and V90 (290/294) were used to haul short freight trains.

Until end of september 2001 DB Cargo engines V90 (294) class from Koblenz and V100 class 212 from Cologne were being used for the "Apollinaris" mineral water intermodal freight trains. Early February 2002 the private RSE commenced freight services to Bad Neuenahr with a ex-DB Köf III.

During the Bundesbahn steam era mostly class 50's 2-10-0 run the freight sector.
